The 2030hub is the world’s first UN recognised Local2030 Hub, accelerating the contextual implementation of Global Goals in cities.

First launched in Liverpool, UK, the 2030hub blends all forms of grassroots to global entrepreneurialism across all sectors and organisational sizes to create a physical and online focal point to stimulate awareness, inspire collaboration and amplify impact.

This pioneering four element model of innovative co-working, communications agency, community building and project delivery acts as an energised local to global ecosystem enhancing the power of people, best practice, data, finance and policy influence.

The 2030hub and the Sustainable Development Goals

We are working closely with the UN through their Local2030 initiative  and take a holistic, yet locally relevant approach to coordinating our resources. Our 13 year plan to 2030 in the immediate term focuses very much on awareness raising, stakeholder mapping and engagement, local measurement and a growing pipeline of tangible impact project delivery (see below).

In addition to our local work we are also increasingly working beyond our launch city’s boundaries to share our learning and create similar projects using our model.

Our core work currently includes:

  • Building a robust impact actor community across the emerging Liverpool City Region that connects to the national and international Global Goals family.
  • Facilitating a City Region approach to SDG mapping across all sectors through a umbrella working group and thematic sub-groups.
  • Awareness raising of SDGs to all stakeholder groups through strategic communications plan, media creation and curation.
  • Ensuring local, regional and national policy consideration of SDGs
  • Targeting the five main Local2030 impact areas of people, practice, policy, data and finance.
  • Delivering specialist SDG consultancy and communications services.

Examples of specific projects either directly managed or supported by us include:

  • Primary and secondary school pilot SDG engagement project in partnership with IMPACT2030.
  • Acting as the northern hub for the accelerating B Corp movement and impact assessment model.
  • Project managing an eco-build issue-based co-housing initiative targeting homelessness and ex-offenders.
  • Creating a delivery model for accelerating SDGs / BCorp implementation to regional SME community.
  • Building a local to global knowledge transfer platform (online and offline) connecting grassroots understanding to SDG thought leadership.
  • Exploring four potential delivery projects through United Smart Cities
  • Provisionally exploring hosting a Sustainable Urbanisation day at the International Business Festival (June 2018).
  • Supporting numerous local grassroots initiatives through mentoring, workspace and professional development.
