Impact help organisations to change. We work at the boundary between the people strategy and the organisations development strategy, connecting and developing both and building the leadership action culture that makes change happen.

We‘re a global business with 38 years of experience and our head office is located in the beautiful Lake District (aren’t we lucky).

As a learning organisation, we too have continued to adapt and change. We are regarded as a great place to work and are proud to be recognised as a responsible organisation.

Impact and the Sustainable Development Goals

Leadership at the top of our organisation has helped to drive our sustainability efforts, but it’s the collection action from all colleagues which has enabled us to continually improve and challenge ourselves around our actions.

There is always more we can do…but here is a glance of some of our work and why its helped (or why its hard!)

Joining the UNGC in 2005 has helped to drive performance in some areas – Human Rights and environment – each year we should demonstrate in our annual report how we are progressing the 10 principles which underpin the Compact.

Relevant projects:

  • We’ve aligned our internal volunteering activities to the relevant SDG’s. For example, we provided 135 days to our local communities under goals 3,4,8,17
  • We have UNGC targets in place to address specific SDG’s in 2018. For example, a beach clean, purchase of more electric vehicles, a formal EMS* ( this is hard for us if we try and use the ISO based systems due to resource and relevance)
  • We are addressing the loneliness issue in the UK by bringing together elders in our communities (4 events are planned over the next 12 months), we want to find out what they want/need and help to keep them connected.
  • We are designing SDG related projects in our clients learning solutions – this helps on several levels. It raise awareness of the SDG’s and it helps people to have conversations about global, local issues and the impact of their actions or the organisations in addressing them. There have been numerous successes here.

Our internal processes have been audited by EcoVadis since 2015. In 2018 we were awarded a Gold rating which puts us in the top 3% of all the companies they audit.

We are 83 full and part time people in the UK (with a large associate base). If you're interested in our work please get in touch. Really happy to share what, why and how we are addressing sustainable development, would love to get new ideas too!
