Signal Iduna Park, the stadium of Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund, will host the Euro 2024 opening match between Italy and Albania this Saturday.

Italy, the reigning champions, start their title defense against Albania in Group B.

Having secured their second European Championship by defeating England in a penalty shootout in 2021, Italy, under Luciano Spalletti, aims to emulate Roberto Mancini’s success.

A victory in this match is crucial given the competition in their group. Despite their respect for Albania, Italy is favored to win and expected to start their campaign strongly.

Albania, who did not qualify for Euro 2020, is making its first appearance in the tournament since 2016.

They qualified by topping their group over the Czech Republic based on head-to-head records, losing only one of their eight matches.

Sylvinho, the former Arsenal, Barcelona, and Manchester City defender and current coach, has good reason to be proud of his team.

Albania hopes to surpass expectations and advance from this challenging group.
