Norwich City host an in-form Blackburn Rovers side at Carrow Road this weekend.

Norwich City have failed to hold on to their defensive composure in the two games they have played this season, conceding five goals and needing last-ditch tackles to avoid embarrassment.

Goals from Mark Harris and Cameron Brannagan sent the three points in favour of Oxford United on the opening day as visitors were left frustrated.

The Canaries were again put to the test by Stevenage in the Carabao Cup mid-week as a 4-3 scoreline relieved some tension from the back of manager Johannes Hoff Thorup.

Abu Kamara, Onel Hernandez and Borja Sainz made their mark on the scoresheet to avoid a potential comeback from Stevenage led by the likes of Charlie Goode and Louis George Appere.

This victory ended Norwich’s six-game long run without success and now they have hopes to get the three points from this weekend’s visitors too.

Meanwhile, Blackburn Rovers have scored goals for fun in their last two matches, netting ten times across the two outings.

The Lancashire club mastered an emphatic win on the first matchday of the Championship as Tyrhys Dolan, Andreas Weimann, Sammie Szmodics and Yuki Ohashi were on point to deliver a powerful performance against Derby County, who could net twice through Curtis Nelson and Kane Wilson.

The Riversiders arrive into the match against Norwich City on the back of a thrilling 6-1 victory over Stockport in the Carabao Cup earlier this week.

In-form Szmodics made his mark yet again with a brace alongside the likes of Weimann and Ohashi. Makhtar Gueye and Jack Vale too scored to put the icing on the cake for the visitors that day.

Manager John Eustace hopes to make his side a powerhouse capable of dominating performances throughout the season and earning a spot in the promotion play-offs round.

Team News

For Norwich, Josh Sargeant is predicted to start as a central attacker.

Abu Kamara is putting up a good fight to break through into the starting eleven after a strong outing against Stevenage.

Sammie Szmodics is expected to depart Blackburn this summer and John Eustance must make the call on his availability.

Yuki Ohashi might be given the nod to start.
