Sheffield United will aim to make it two wins out of the two in the Championship when they face Queens Park Rangers at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

Sheffield United returned to the Championship following a disastrous Premier League campaign last season in which they were the first team to get relegated.

Paul Heckingbottom led the team through a frustrating season as they managed to secure only 16 points from 38 matches.

However, manager Chris Wilder hopes to reverse last campaign’s debacles and set his squad for a strong season ahead.

As for QPR, they approach this match in an upbeat mood after sealing a 2-1 Carabao Cup victory earlier this week over Cambridge United.

Michael Frey opened the scoring and Paul Smyth doubled the lead for the visitors in the 36th minute.

Despite taking an early lead against West Brom in their previous league outing, The Hoops stood on the receiving end of Josh Maja’s brilliant hat-trick.

Head coach Marti Cifuentes turned the tide last year for the West London side after taking over at the helm of the club as he led QPR to a strong 18th-placed finish.

QPR are set to face Plymouth Argyle and Luton Town after Sheffield and they hope to come through unscathed in this thick run of games.

Team News

Manager Chris Wilder shuffled his side against Wrexham mid-week but is expected to go with his usual starting eleven. New goalie signing Michael Cooper is set to start the match.

Despite his goal in the Carabao Cup, defender Auston Trusty will lose his place in the starting line-up as a 4-man defence consisting of Alfie Gilchrist, Anel Ahmedhodzic, Jack Robinson and Harrison Burrows are predicted to start.

As for QPR, Morgan Fox and Ilias Chair will miss the contest due to injuries.

Competition is expected between Zan Celar and Michael Frey to start in the central attacking position.

Predicted XIs

Sheffield United: Cooper; Gilchrist, Ahmedhodzic, Robinson, Burrows; Souza, Arblaster; Brooks, O’Hare, Hamer; Moore

QPR: Nardi; Dunne, Cook, Clark-Salter, Paal; Field, Varane; Smyth, Andersen, Kolli; Celar
